
BIO
Attilio Sorbi (born 7 February 1959 in Cortona, Italy) is an Italian football manager, instructor and former professional player. As a midfielder he played in the Italian leagues for Montevarchi, Ternana, Roma, Pisa, Padova, Bologna, Venezia-Mestre, Cavese, Battipagliese and Rondinella.
He began his managerial career in 1994 with Sangiovannese, followed by spells at Olbia, Montevarchi, AS Sestese, Perugia Primavera, Portogruaro, and Inter Women, whom he led from 2019 to 2021. From 2017 to 2019 he served as assistant coach to Milena Bertolini with the Italy Women’s senior national team, including their FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 campaign in France.
Today Sorbi is a lecturer in football technique and tactics at the FIGC Technical Centre of Coverciano and is the FIGC course coordinator for the qualification of Heads of Youth Sector (Responsabile di Settore Giovanile). He is the author of several reference texts on football technique, fitness preparation and tactical analysis published in Italy.

The lecture addresses how a modern youth sector should be structured to support both sporting and educational growth of young players. Drawing on FIGC’s experience in coach education at Coverciano, it focuses on the competences required of staff working with youth teams and on the principles that should guide their daily work.
